Getting To Craigengillan

Satnavs give up beautifully about a mile out. Here's the human version.

From Glasgow (≈ 90 minutes)

M77 south to the A77, staying with it past Kilmarnock toward Ayr, then join the A713 south-east through Patna to Dalmellington. From the village, follow the estate signs onto the Craigengillan drive.

From Ayr (≈ 30 minutes)

Take the A713 south-east through Patna toward Dalmellington. Just before the village, the estate entrance is signposted to the right; follow the drive over the Doon.

From Dumfries & the south (≈ 60 minutes)

A76 to New Cumnock, then the B741 west into Dalmellington. Pass through the village and pick up the signed estate drive on the southern edge.

By rail

Ayr is the nearest mainline station, with fast services from Glasgow Central. Taxis from Ayr take about 30 minutes; the estate can help arrange transfers for house and cottage guests.

Good to know

Postcode KA6 7PZ gets you to the right hillside; the booking confirmation includes gate-by-gate notes for each cottage and cabin. Phone signal thins on the drive, so load directions before you leave Dalmellington.

Craigengillan is waiting
