Archery

Field archery on the parkland with tuition and all the kit. Sixty pounds a head for one to four, fifty for five to eight, forty for nine or more. Children from eight.

Clay Pigeon Shooting

An hour or so on the clays with an instructor, guns, cartridges and ear protection provided. Children shoot from eight, supervised.

Axe Throwing

Exactly what it sounds like, run properly and safely, and far more absorbing than it has any right to be.

Quad Biking

An hour on the estate tracks with tuition and safety gear. Riders from sixteen, four bikes out at a time.

Stargazing

Craigengillan sits inside one of the darkest skies in Europe, and the observatory is on the estate. On a clear night you will see the Milky Way with your own eyes.

A half day in the woods with someone who knows what is edible, ending with what you have found.

Highland Coos & Ewes

Meet the fold up close, and the sheep who think they run the place. The children's favourite, reliably.

Junior Ranger

A half day of tracks, dens, bugs and river dipping. They come back filthy and extremely pleased with themselves.

Beekeeping

An hour in the veil at the estate hives, with a jar to take home.

Forest Bathing

Slow, deliberate hours in Ness Glen's temperate rainforest, doing nothing in particular, on purpose.

Art School

A day at the easel in the landscape that has been drawing painters here for two centuries.

Watercolour Painting

The estate in watercolour, tutored, with paper and paints found for you.

Photography

An hour or two with a photographer who knows exactly where the light falls and when.

Flower Workshop

Cut from the estate garden and arranged with the florist. The bouquet goes home with you.

Perfume Making

Blend and bottle a scent of your own, twenty millilitres of it, to a formula nobody else has.

House & Garden Tour

Two hours through the Adam-school house and the garden, with the Jansen of Paris interiors, the Burns connection and the forty horses sent to Mafeking.
