Thatched and stone-built holiday cottages scattered through the estate woodland, each with its own fire, its own silence, and the same 3,000 acres at the door.

The cottages are the estate in miniature: thick walls, low beams, windows filled with green. Some are thatched, some slated, all are warm, comfortable and genuinely rural, with red squirrels for neighbours.

Every cottage stay includes the freedom of the estate paths, from the gorge of Ness Glen to the open hill above Loch Doon. Stack the log basket, walk until dusk, and come home to a fire.
